How to clean up a broken fluorescent light bulb?

So about a week ago I accidentally broke this fluorescent light bulb, so I just picked up the visible residue with my bare hands... and there might still be some tiny pieces of glass stuck in the carpet... but the thing is that you're not supposed to use a vacuum cleaner to clean up fluorescent light bulb's residue because it spread the mercury, so what should I use to clean up the tiny barely visible pieces of glass... by the way it's been about a week since the fluorescent light bulb broke.
